Positive Pet Mobile Vet
Our vet Dr Katie Friel-Russell BVSc APDT MRCVS has opened her very own behaviourally supported veterinary surgery. With Positive Pet Mobile Vet Katie offers a home visit veterinary service. This means she comes and sees your animals in your own home!
Vaccinations, flea and worm treatments.
Minor injuries and post-op care.
Gentle at home euthanasia.
What is a Home Visit Veterinary Practice?
Yes – all those stressful visits to the vets could be a thing of the past! Finally a home visit veterinary practice is here! Katie uses all of her behavioural and training knowledge to do everything she can to make the veterinary treatment as easy as possible. Low stress vet care for your dogs, cats, rabbits and other small pets. Longer consults (a HUGE 30-40 minutes!) gives lots of time to let your pet settle.
You always see the same vet and you and your pet get to know Katie.
What can be done at home?
Up to 80% of the things your pets have done in the vets could actually be done in your own home. For those few bits that can’t be done (e.g. X-rays, surgery and hospitalisation) Katie is working with Lime Trees Vets so you know your pet will be looked after in all eventualities.
Why pick Positive Pet Mobile Vet?
If your pet struggles at the vets and finds the building scary you can avoid this stress for them. If your pet doesn’t like other animals and so the waiting room is something you dread then being seen at home is much easier! Getting cats into carry boxes can be stressful all around so why not bypass all that kerfuffle! For some it is the transport aspect which is most difficult so this could be the solution you’re looking for. Late night, early morning and weekend consults are also available so may better suit working families too. Maybe you just want continuity always seeing the same vet who really knows you and your pet – that’s what we’re all about!
We also offer peaceful goodbyes for that awful time when the best we can do for our pets is to let them go. Katie works hard to make this terrible time a little more bearable and as stress free as possible for your pet’s last moments. We never like to think about this part of pet ownership but not having to move your pet when it does occur can make all the difference. As a guardian of five pets herself Katie truly knows how this feels and takes the privilege of being there for the last time you have with your pets very seriously.
“Katie does a fantastic job, obviously understands the needs of a very stressed out dog.”
